NDA Notification 2019
The NDA (II) 2018 applicants will be selected based on their performance in the offline exam and SSB Interview. Once the combined training is completed at National Defence Academy, the candidates will be sent to the respective training academy for which they are shortlisted for the training of 1 year. National Defence Academy (NDA) & Naval Academy (NA), is a national level entrance exam, which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), twice a year (Once in April and Once in September). NDA & NA exam is conducted for the recruitment of young cadets in the different wings of the Indian Armed Forces including Army, Navy and Air Force.

Exam Pattern of NDA & NA Exam-
- Offline Objective exam
- SSB Interview
- Medical Fitness
The exam of NDA & NA consists of 2 parts-
- Part I: Mathematics (2.5 hours) (120 Question - 300 Marks)
- Part II: General Ability Test (2.5 hours) (150 Question - 600 Marks)
Total- 270 Question - 900 Marks - 5 hours
Note- General Ability consists of 2 subsections:
- English: 50 questions carrying 200 marks
- General Knowledge: 100 questions carrying 400 marks.
- For Army- the candidate must be appearing/completed 12th standard.
- For Navy and Air Force- the candidate must be appearing/completed 12th standard and must have studied Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects.
- National Defence Academy: 342 (208 for Army, 42 for Navy and 92 for Air Force)
- Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme): 50
Total Vacancies: 392
Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 02nd July 2000 and not later than 01st July 2003 are eligible.
The e-Admit Card will be made available on the UPSC website (Candidates (excepting SC/ST candidates/Sons of JCOs/NCOs/ORs specified from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100/-)
The examination will be held at the following Centres –
Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Allahabad, Bengaluru, Bareilly, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Dharwad, Dispur, Gangtok, Hyderabad, Imphal, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Jorhat, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji (Goa), Patna, Port Blair, Raipur, Ranchi, Sambalpur, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Tirupati, Udaipur and Vishakhapatnam.
Applicants should note that there will be a ceiling on the number of candidates allotted to each of the centres except Chennai, Dispur, Kolkata and Nagpur.
